Sisters of the World Blogging award.

Whoospy! I’ve been gone a very long time. Mostly because school work is finally catching up to me, but also because I’m hella lazy. Anyway, here is the Sisters of the World blog award.

Thank you to BookOlympus for nominating me!

The Rules:

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site.

2. Put the award logo on your blog.

3. Answer the ten questions they’ve set you.

4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.

5. Nominate ten people.

Here are the questions that I was set:

  1. Favourite author? Why? – JK Rowling because I started to enjoy reading properly once I read Harry Potter.
  2. Do you read ebooks? – Yes! I love how portable my Kindle is.
  3. Do you review every book you’ve read? – No, I really don’t think I’d have enough time to do that!
  4. Do you listen to music while you’re reading? – Only if I’m reading somewhere public or at night. I like to block everything else out!
  5. Your opinion on audiobooks? – I find it kind of difficult to concentrate on them, but I used to love them when I was younger.
  6. If you could be a character for one day, who would you be? – Hermione, duh.
  7. If you could change the ending of a book, which one would you change? – Allegiant maybe. I already knew the ending because someone spoiled it for me. I’d like a new, not spoiled one.
  8. If an alien visited you and asked you to show it a book, which one would you choose? – A Game of Thrones. I’d tell them that you have to read it to be initiated into the Human race.
  9. The best song for your favourite book? – I have no idea tbh but I really like this at the moment so you should deffo listen.
  10. Favourite book-to-movie adaptation? – I think Mockingjay part 1 was awesome and better than the book, so does that count?

So I’m not going to nominate anyone, or actually write my own questions. That’s because this has been sitting in my drafts for a while and I’m currently working on a big cosplay project that will be needing my full attention!

See you soon,

Erin xx

Book Boyfriend Tag

I literally have no inspiration for today’s post, so here is another tag. Sorry! This one is the book boyfriend tag.

1. Most romantic boyfriend
Jace from The Mortal Instruments. I reckon he’d be very romantic.
2. Dark and moody bad boy with a good side.
Shane from The Glass House series. I love him so much and the actor that plays him in the web series is very cute.
3. Paranormal boyfriend
Daemon from the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I can’t help but like him.
4. Boyfriend you want to tame
I don’t really know what this means… But I’ll tame Jacob from Twilight because he literally is an animal.
5. Boy you friend zoned
ugh I hate this phrase so much. But if it means a boy you are friends with then I’d pick Gale from the Hunger Games.
6. Your soul mate
Legolas from Lord of the Rings.
7. Boyfriend you want to elope with
Draco Malfoy. Only because I’d judged by people if I went and married him here.
8. Boyfriend you’d venture anywhere with
Legolas again. I reckon he’d be great to travel with.
9. Boyfriend you’d want to be stranded on a desert island with
Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments. He’s got magic so he could make it look awesome and make a fire, which I definitely can not do!
10. Most badass boyfriend
I’m going to say Westley from The Princess Bride, have you seen his sword skills?
I’m just going to tag anyone to do this. If you have done it post your links below and I’ll take a look!

Least Favourite Blogging Things

This is another BookBlogWriMo prompt. Although I really enjoy book blogging, there are two things that annoy me.

The first one is mainly to do with twitter. Sometimes I get some weird tweets from authors asking if I’d review their book and when you look down their profile they’ve said the same thing to everyone. I find this annoying as they are unwanted notifications, but I also find it annoying that they obviously haven’t spent enough time picking the bloggers they want by going onto their actual blogs and finding their contact details. If it was a general ‘Hey, who wants to review my book’ kind of tweet, that is not actually directed at anyone, then I wouldn’t mind. It’s just how impersonal and lazy it is that gets me.

The second one is more my fault than anyone else’s. I really hate having to take photos for posts. Most of the time I don’t. However, when I actually get round to putting them into the post, I find it really hard to format. Maybe this is just me being stupid. I can never get the images to go into the places that I want them to go!

What are your least favourite things about blogging? I’ve had a really positive experience so far, but I would like to know your opinions.

Ultimate Book Tag

I apologise for the ridiculous amount of tags I’m doing! I’m so busy at the moment so I’m trying to write stuff when I have time.

1. Do you get sick while reading in the car?
No physically sick. But it does make me feel ill.

2. Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?
Edith Pattou’s writing style is really interesting and I love her books a lot.

  • Harry Potter is English like me.
  • Twilight is about a really unhealthy relationship.
  • Magic is way cooler duh.

I have a school bag with my school books in it!

5. Do you smell your books?
YES!

6. Books with or without little illustrations?
Without, but I don’t mind if they have them.

7. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing? (Ex. I read Twilight before I read HP and thought the writing was amazing but read HP and now think Twilight is a little bit of a joke.)
The Hunger Games, I don’t think I need to explain.

8. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
Not really aha

9. What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
Probably my copy of Animal Farm by George Orwell.

A Game of Thrones or A Clash of Kings. I can’t be bothered to go see which ones bigger.

11. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
I’d love to, but I’m so busy.

16. What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
The Maximum Ride series (even though it is famous it is really under valued).

Do too many tag posts 😉

Zombies!!!!

24. Love Triangle or Forbidden Love
Neither preferably.

25. AND FINALLY: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?I like both, why should I have to choose?

Romance books are better than action books with unnecessary romance. But I prefer action books over all.

The Book Blogger Test

This isn’t a very long post today. I am insanely busy, so I have resorted to busting out the tags until I get time to write something interesting…

What are your top three book pet hates?

  1. When people break the spine of their books.
  2. Leaving drinks on books.
  3. When you try to turn a page but actually rip it.
Describe your perfect reading spot.
My bed! Or in the garden on a sunny day.
Tell us three book confessions.
  1. I don’t like most of John Green’s books.
  2. The Hunger Games is kind of shitty. (I still cried though.)
  3. It took me a year to read A Game of Thrones.

When was the last time you cried during a book?
Moonless by Crystal Collier. The heartache is REAL, my fishies—I teared up halfway into the story. Plus this mermaid here is a hopeless romantic (especially when it comes to two deserving protagonists).

How many books are on your bedside table?
None! It’s not big enough to fit books. But there are currently two on the floor next to my bed.

What is your favourite snack while you’re reading?
I don’t really snack when reading because I don’t want to ruin the book!

Name three books you would recommend to everyone.

  1. Harry Potter 😉
  2. The Maximum Ride Series
  3. I Am Seated
Write how much books mean to you in just three words.
I love them. (I really can’t explain it in 3 words, so this’ll have to do.)
What is your biggest reading secret?
I use my Kindle way more than I read actual books, It’s so much easier to carry around and I can get ARC’s really easily on it.
If anyone else wants to do this, feel free to. Link your post in the comments when you have finished!

Taylor Swift Book Tag

taytaytag

Here’s a really cool tag that combines two of my favourite things, the glorious Miss Taylor Swift and Books. If you want to do it then leave your posts in the comments! I’d love to see what y’all pick.

1. We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together: Pick a book (or book series) that you were pretty sure you were in love with, but then wanted to break up with.
Delirium by Lauren Oliver. Although I hated the first book but loved the last one (?) so I’m not entirely sure that it counts.

2. Red: Pick a book with a RED cover.
The Enemy by Charlie Higson (I love zombies so much!)

3. The Best Day: Pick a book (0r a series) that makes you feel nostalgic.
Harry Potter duh

4. Love Story: Pick a book with forbidden love.
Flowers in the Attic by Virginia Andrews. This book is so messed up, but I still kinda love it.

5. I Knew You Were Trouble: Pick a book with a bad character you couldn’t help but love.
I guess Alex in Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman, although just how bad she is is open to debate.

6. Innocent: (written b/c of Kanye West!) Pick a book that someone ruined the ending for.
Allegiant, ugh I was so excited to read this and then someone (WHO DOESN’T EVEN READ THE BOOKS) told me the ending.

7. Everything has Changed: Pick a character from a book who goes through extensive character development.
Jane from Jane Eyre. Although her character development wasn’t for the better.

8. You Belong With Me: Pick your most anticipated book release.
I was so excited to read Blood of Olympus, so I guess that would be it. I don’t have any that I’m particularly waiting for now.

9. Forever and Always: Pick your favourite book couple.
Do they have to be canon? If not then Luna and Neville. If they do have to then Clary and Jace!

10. Come Back, Be Here: Pick the book you would least like to lend out, for fear of missing it too much.
My hard back set of Harry Potter books. I won’t let anyone touch them. Ever.
