Whilst this summer will most likely be comprised of reading the material for my A Level English course next year, here are a few that I hope to read :
- A Clash of Kings by George R.R Martin: I’ve been reading this for ages and I just haven’t gotten round to finishing it.
- The Murder Complex by Lindsay Cummings: I follow her on Instagram and she seems like the sweetest person ever (SHE HAS A PET HEDGEHOG) so I really want to read her début novel.
- Alienated by Melissa Lander: I love aliens, I don’t really think I can say much else.
- The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey: People keep talking about this so I really want to try it!
- Wild Swans by Jung Chang: I’ve had this on my bookshelf for ages and I haven’t gotten round to it!
- Cinder by Marissa Meyer: From what I understand It’s fairy tales re-imagined in the future.
- You’re the one that I want by Giovanna Fletcher: I adore Mrs Fletcher and I really want to try out her books.
- The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult: My cousin reccomended this to me, it looks so interesting.
- The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness: I persuaded my brother to buy this (very sneaky) so I could read it without having to pay.
- Earth Girl by Janet Edwards: This looks so good, I adore novels about dystopian futures.
As I have an extremely long summer holiday this year (yay for GCSEs) I am hoping to read all of these. It’s not like I actually do anything other than read anyway.

I’ve seen a lot about The 5th Wave as well. Maybe I’ll put that on my to read list soon. Also, Alienated. Great list!
Thanks for reading! I can’t wait to read either of them 😀
Hurry up and read A Clash of Kings so that you can get to A Storm of Swords!
I will! It’s just so long 😉 I carried in watching the TV show though so I know what happens! Thanks for reading
The 5th Wave was one of my favorites from last summer! Happy TTT from a fellow Erin!
I’m so excited to read it! Happy TTT 😀
“The Storyteller” is amazing. I have read all of Jodi Picoult’s books, and that one might just be my favorite!
That sounds awesome! I’ve read most of her books but this one seems extra special.
Great picks! I read The Knife of Never Letting Go and the rest of the trilogy all in one week over last summer and it was so amazing, so I hope you enjoy it. I absolutely love Patrick Ness’s writing!
Krystianna @ Downright Dystopian
Thank you! I’ve been wanting to read it for ages and now I’m finally getting round to it 😀
I started Cinder a two days ago, it’s really good 🙂 Great picks
Thanks! I’m really excited to read them all 🙂
I read at least one of George R R Martin’s books at a pool over the course of a month or so. It is a really good summer book.
I also need to read Cinder and The 5th Wave. I have heard such great things.
